Description: The four day Healing the Healer Retreats have been developed for individuals, groups, and organizations who are in jobs or positions of public service, taking care of others or just needing an intentional holistic break from the day to day hustle. The retreat is led by Senior Trainer, Victor Jose Santana with a team of three other instructors who specialize in massage, herbalism, peacemaking Circles, traditional Mexica and Taino medicines. This retreat is designed to reduce the impact of exposure to chronic traumatic stress at work, home school or community. The retreat takes place in the beach town of Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. The cost of the retreat is listed in the registration and includes all transportation, hotel accommodations, massages and meals. Each day of the retreat begins with breakfast and meditation at the beach followed by a workshop and ending with a relaxing outing or massage. There are two special outings within the four days. One will be visiting the small island of La Saona and the sacred Taino site Padre Nuestro, a cave with natural sweet water pools to swim in. Instructors will share teachings on how to transform traumatic stress, create a personal nutrition and exercise plans, as well as provide talking Circle spaces to process, connect, and find support from peers. Victor Jose Santana’s great great grandfather Juan Brito was the founder of Bayahibe and this retreat also provides a special connection to the local community of this beautiful beach town.
